ADUR JOINS A GLOBAL DANCE
WAVE FOR WATER!
Imagine this:
On Saturday 14 June 2025 at 11 AM, thousands of dancers rise in rhythm across every continent — from rainforests to rooftops, city squares to remote riverbanks. And right here, in the heart of the Adur Valley, we’re part of it.
Welcome to ADUR GLOBAL WATER DANCES.
This international movement is more than a performance — it’s a powerful, unified celebration of water, our most vital resource. And this year, the world turns its eyes to Steyning and the Adur.
Why?
Because we are blessed with something rare and beautiful: chalk streams — including the Tanyard Stream, Fullersbrooke, and Ladywell Stream. Crystal-clear, ecologically precious, and increasingly under threat.
We’re dancing not just for joy — we’re dancing for clean water for all.
Your hosts? Y’MUM — the unapologetically fabulous community arts group dedicated to intergenerational wellbeing through movement, nature, and (yes!) showing off. They’ve worked with Steyning Museum, Steyning Grammar School, and helped the community Scream for the Sea in 2023. Now, they’re bringing the Global Water Dance home.
🎤 Expect drumming, community spirit, and a call to action, led by none other than the Bard of Worthing, Joe Bunn.
